Dropper Sizing

  • Measure your seatpost diameter (A) with calipers, or look it up on your frame manufacturer's website. The most common sizes are 27.2mm, 30.9mm, and 31.6mm.
  • Measure the ride height (B) of your current seatpost from the top of the seatpost clamp to the middle of the saddle rail.
  • Measure the maximum insertion (C) of your frame by gently inserting a rigid or dropper seatpost (or a measuring tape) into your seat tube until it contacts an obstruction. Mark where the seatpost emerges from the seat tube, remove the post, and measure from your mark to the bottom of the seatpost; include the actuator if measuring with a dropper post.
  • Add your ride height (B) to your maximum insertion (C) to get your total maximum dropper length (D).
  • Ensure that the dropper post you choose has a length less than (D), and that its listed stack height is less than the ride height (B) of your current post.
