About Eric House

Conroe, TX

Drop me in a beautiful, remote corner of the world with some good friends, my hardtail Chumba, and no plan, and you’ll find me smiling from ear to ear. I’m an ultra-endurance adventure bike-packer, runner, writer, and creator driven to explore and build community through bikes and travel. These days, I ride single-speed—a choice that provides a unique perspective on touring and racing in today’s ultra scene. I started racing in 2021 after a snowboarding accident left me with a broken clavicle and a mound of self-doubt. Determined to rebuild my body and push back against the fear of becoming sedentary, I signed up for my first bike race—a triathlon. Later that same year, I completed my first ultra-gravel events. Those early experiences cemented my love for long-distance, unsupported racing and reignited my passion for exploring the world by bike.

Memorable Ride

One adventure that has permanent residence in my mind was a several-day tour with my companion from Osh to Peak Lenin, tracing the rugged, humbling terrain of Kyrgyzstan. This route delivered everything: icy river dips, deep conversations, heartfelt interactions with locals, and mountain views that dominated the horizon—not to mention heaps of ice cream!

Favorite Tire

My gravel allrounder bike is always sporting the Durable, tan wall 650b x 47 Washburn. This tire has never let me down.
