Teravail Team: What We Ride
Share

We put a lot of thought into the tires and components that help you make Your Ride. Your Way. So it only makes sense that we’d put similar thought into our own bike builds. Here are a few staff rides from the Teravail team to spark some creativity in your next project.

Bike: Surly Lowside in Dream Tangerine

List of Teravail components on the build:
Favorite thing about the bike: 100% the color. That orange is HOT.

Future planned upgrades: Maybe a front brake? But I’d probably get some Gen 2 Ehline tires.
Anything else you want to add: I’m super stoked for this build. I used to have an Evil DOC dirt jumper waaaay back in the day that I used to huck off random jumps around town and take to Ray’s Mountain Bike Park in Milwaukee, WI. Been feeling very nostalgic for that DOC and wanted a bike that allowed me to hit up the pump track or jump off stuff (when my body allows it. I’m old now). The Lowside fit the bill perfectly.

Bike: Salsa Spearfish C Deluxe in Citrus Green

List of Teravail components on the build:
- Drawpoint Light Trail, Tan
- Fluent 28H R laced to Project 321 G3 hubs in Maple
- Alloy Tubeless Valve with mixed copper cap and matte black valve body
- Lytho Grips, 35mm in Caramel Brown
Favorite thing about the bike:
I’m still getting to know the bike, and the color is the first thing that everyone notices! At first, it wasn’t my favorite, but now I love how the bright green encourages you to get out and ride. It’s hard to look sad when pedaling around on a neon green mountain bike, I’ve tried. I’ve also been loving my small on-tube storage bag made by Friend and Fiend!

Future planned upgrades:
- Teravail Telec Mountain Dropper
- Teravail Mantle 35.0 Carbon handlebar
- 40mm stem in a color other than black, can I match maple and caramel?
- Wolftooth ALT pedals (is purple too much with the tan and lime green?)
- Specialized Phenom saddle
Anything else you want to add:
That about does it. The bike is super-efficient and stable, and I’m tempted to throw a longer-travel fork on it down the road and lean into the trail side of the platform a bit further. It’s a blast to ride!

Bike: Custom Oddity Ti frame and Ti Squid fork made by Sean ‘Burnsey’ Burns of Oddity Cycles in Fort Collins, CO

List of Teravail components on the build:
- Circos Carbon wheels
- Radia 2.5 bar tape in Midnight w/Caramel rubber bar end plugs
- Prototype handlebars, stem and tires (watch for details soon)
Favorite thing about the bike: The fit, the ride quality, and the versatility of the bike (this is the third iteration of parts hung on it) are all my favorites. As far as components go, I get a lot of comments and questions on the Squid fork.

Future planned upgrades: I’m pretty set on the component side of things having just moved from a Shimano Di2/hydraulic brake setup to bar end shifters and cable-actuated Paul Klamper brakes. Now it’s time to update my overnight and multi-day camp setups.
